Valencia String Barstool

The Valencia String Barstool in Sand/Sunbaked Clay is 55cm wide, 48.5cm deep and 91cm high, with a woven string seat on a slim frame. Two colours are worked into the weave rather than one, so it shifts as you move past it. It is open enough to leave a bar looking uncluttered.

The case for a woven barstool over a solid one is visual weight. Four solid stools at a kitchen island read as a wall of furniture; four woven ones let you see the island behind them. In a small kitchen that is the difference between a bar that feels usable and one that feels blocked.

At 91cm overall this is a tall stool. Measure your counter and allow roughly 25 to 30cm between the seat and the underside of the bench, because a stool that is close to the right height is worse than one that is clearly wrong.

The caveat with any woven seat outdoors is grit. Sand and dirt work into the weave and are awkward to get out again, so a rinse is worth doing before it dries in.
