Three Feet Planter
This footed planter is 22cm square and 10cm high, cast in textured cement in a cream tone. A wide shallow body sits on small feet. It suits dried and everlasting arrangements.
Feet on a planter do something practical as well as decorative. They lift the base clear of the surface, so any moisture that reaches the underside can dry rather than sitting against timber, and the shadow beneath makes a heavy cement vessel read as lighter than it is.
At 10cm high with a 22cm span this is a genuinely shallow form, which limits what it will hold. Dried stems, everlasting arrangements and shallow-rooted plants suit it; anything needing depth does not.
Cement in cream rather than grey is the warmer end of the material, and it sits with timber and linen where a cool grey concrete would read as industrial. The texture is what stops it looking like a moulded product.
