Sidney Bay Sofa Chair - Eames Parchment

The Sidney Bay Sofa Chair in Eames Parchment is a curved, fully upholstered chair on a thick upholstered base. The seat is 700mm wide and 680mm deep, set at 410mm high. Cushions are feather filled.

A 680mm seat depth at a 410mm seat height is a specific combination and it describes a particular way of sitting: low and far back, legs out rather than feet under. This is a chair for an evening rather than for a conversation over coffee, and it will feel wrong pulled up to a table or a desk.

Feather filling is the other half of that. Feather collapses around you immediately and needs plumping to look right again, which is the trade for a softness foam cannot reach. The thick upholstered base means the chair meets the floor as a solid mass rather than on legs, so it reads as grounded and takes up more visual room than its footprint suggests. Fully assembled on arrival.
