dBodhi Shelfmate Oval Type C

The dBodhi Shelfmate Oval Type C is a 50cm wide floating shelf in reclaimed teak, held within a hand-welded wrought iron frame. The rounded rectangular shape gives it a sculptural quality. Article code OMT492012PC.

At half a metre wide this is the size that works alone. Where the smaller units really want company on a wall, a 50cm shelf has enough presence to sit by itself above a desk, a bedside or a hallway console.

That width also takes a genuine row of books rather than a token few, which makes it functional as well as decorative. The teak appears to float inside the iron frame rather than being fixed to the wall directly, an effect that comes from how the frame carries the shelf, and it is the main reason these read as designed objects instead of storage. Every shelf differs in grain because the teak is salvaged, so no two in a group are identical.
