The Portsea Cruise 3 Seater Sofa is 215cm of powder-coated aluminium framing with 12mm rope weaving in natural. Cushions are 100% olefin over foam in a waterproof wrap. It arrives fully assembled.

Twelve millimetres is the rope gauge and it is the number that separates a weave that holds its tension from one that goes slack after two summers. Suppliers only publish a gauge when it has been specified rather than accepted, so its presence here is worth as much as the figure itself.

Aluminium is the correct frame material within sight of salt air, because it does not rust at all rather than resisting rust for a while. Olefin does the same job on the fabric side, holding its colour at the fibre rather than through a coating that wears off. At 81cm deep and 78cm high this is a low-slung sofa built for lounging rather than for upright conversation, which suits the setting it is designed for.
