Pluto Buffet - Porcini
View By Appointment
The Pluto Buffet in Porcini is 200cm wide, 45cm deep and 76cm high, on slim circular legs. The case is lifted clear of the floor rather than sitting on a plinth, so the floor runs under it. At 45cm deep it holds plates and serving pieces without crowding a dining room.
Buffet depth is where dining rooms get lost. A 50cm case against the wall of a room that also has a table and chairs leaves a walkway that two people cannot pass in. At 45cm this one gives back the few centimetres that matter, and it still takes a dinner plate flat.
Lifting the case on legs is not only a look. A visible floor line makes a long piece read as lighter than it is, and it means the skirting behind is reachable and the floor under it can be cleaned.
The caveat with a 200cm case on slim legs is point loading. Loaded with crockery the weight sits on four small feet, so on a timber floor use pads and expect marks if it is ever dragged.
