Paulina Marble Tray

The Paulina Marble Tray is cut from white marble in two long, narrow sizes, 40.5 x 20 x 2.5cm and 51 x 20 x 5cm. Use it as a cheese board, a platter for appetisers, or a landing place for keys and jewellery on a sideboard. Every tray differs in colour, weight and veining.

Marble stays cool, which is genuinely useful for cheese and butter on a warm afternoon. It is also heavy, so nothing slides about while you carry it out to the table and set it down among the glasses.

The two sizes suit different jobs. The 40.5cm is the one that ends up on a sideboard or a dressing table, while the 51cm is thicker at 5cm and better suited to serving. Some love the cool of stone in a room and others want timber's warmth instead, and neither instinct is wrong, though stone does handle a wet glass without complaint.
