Noctis Side Table

The Noctis Side Table in Thunder is 30cm across and 52cm high, a narrow column of a table. At 30cm it holds a drink and nothing else, which is the point of a table this size. At 52cm it sits above most seat heights.

A 30cm top is a decision rather than a limitation. Beside a chair you want somewhere for a glass within reach, and anything larger simply collects things. This is the size that stays useful because it cannot become a shelf.

At 52cm high it is above the arm of most chairs, so a drink is set down rather than reached down to. It also means the table slots into the gap between two chairs where nothing wider would fit.

The caveat is stability at that ratio. A 30cm footprint under a 52cm height is tall and narrow, so it will go over if knocked sideways. It is not the table for a walkway or a room with a large dog.
