Lucia Curve Side Table - Faux Mocha Marble

The Lucia Curve Side Table in Faux Mocha Marble is 48cm square and 48cm high, a cube with the edges softened. The same dimension in all three directions means it reads the same whichever way it is turned. It works as a side table, a stool or a plant stand.

A cube is the most useful shape in outdoor furniture because it has no wrong orientation and no front. Beside a chair it is a side table, at the end of a sunlounger it is a footrest, and against a wall it holds a pot.

At 48cm high it is a little above most outdoor seat heights, which suits a drink better than a book. The softened edges are the reason it can be sat on without being uncomfortable.

The caveat is weight. A solid composite cube at this size is heavy, which is what stops it moving in wind and also what makes it a two-hand job to reposition. Lift rather than drag it on a tiled terrace.
