Livorno Luna Side Table - Warm Sand

The Livorno Luna Side Table is a 40cm square top on a pillar base, standing 50cm high in Warm Sand. That height sits just above most sofa seats, so a cup is easy to reach without leaning down. The top is flat and unbroken, which makes it a good plinth for a lamp.

Side tables fail when the top is too small or the height is wrong. Forty centimetres square takes a lamp base and a glass side by side, and 50cm puts the surface at roughly arm height from a seated position.

The pillar base is the visual point of difference. It gives the piece a solid, sculptural presence rather than the spindly-legged look most side tables default to, and there is nothing at ankle height to catch a foot. Warm Sand is a soft neutral, so it can sit beside almost any upholstery without competing. What the listing does not tell you is the material, which is worth asking about if the piece is headed outdoors.
