Leon Dining Table - Porcelain

The Leon Dining Table in Porcelain is 220cm long, 110cm deep and 75cm high, on two oversized fluted pillars. The pillars carry the top instead of four corner legs, so the ends are clear and a chair fits at each. It seats eight at a comfortable spacing.
Fluting is usually a decorative detail applied to a thin leg. Here it is the structure: two pillars wide enough to hold a 220cm top without a stretcher between them, which is what keeps the underside of the table empty.
That matters at this length. A 220cm table with corner legs seats eight only if nobody minds sitting against one, and the ends become decoration. Pillars set in from the ends turn both ends into real places.
The caveat is that pillars concentrate the load in two spots rather than four. On a soft floor or a thick rug expect them to settle in, and check the top is level once it is in position rather than assuming it will stay where it was set down.
