The Kennedy Tenner Occasional Chair in Cognac Velvet is 77cm wide, 73cm deep and 74cm high, upholstered with arms. The back and arms run at close to one height around the seat rather than stepping down, so it reads as a low tub. It suits a corner where a wing back would dominate.

An occasional chair has to do two jobs that pull against each other. It has to be comfortable enough that somebody chooses it, and small enough that it does not read as a second sofa in the corner. A low continuous back is how this one manages both.

At 74cm high it sits below the eye line of anyone standing, which is why it disappears into a room better than a tall chair of the same footprint. At 77cm wide it is a genuinely single chair rather than a snug one and a half.
