Arc Stone Coffee Table

Glass reinforced concrete is a serious outdoor material. Adding glass fibre to the mix gives concrete tensile strength it does not have on its own, which is what allows a piece like this to be made thin enough to look elegant rather than like a bollard.

The pitted finish is characteristic of the material rather than a defect. Small voids form as the concrete cures, and leaving them visible rather than filling them gives the surface a stone-like texture that sits comfortably in a garden setting. Ivory keeps it light against paving or decking, where a darker concrete would read heavy. At 360mm high with a 1180mm span it is proportioned as a low table for lounge seating rather than for dining.
