Island Rhythm Coffee Table

The Island Rhythm Coffee Table is a drum-form outdoor table in black fleck fibreglass with solid timber, 800mm across and 310mm high. The drum shape gives it mass without a sharp corner anywhere, which is worth having around outdoor seating. It is built to stay outside.

Low is the right call for an outdoor coffee table. At 310mm this sits well below the seat line of most outdoor lounges, so it does not block the view across the setting or get in the way of legs stretched out.

Drum-form tables have a practical advantage people rarely mention: there is no leg to kick and no overhang to bark a shin on, which counts around a pool or a fire pit where people move about in the dark. Fibreglass with solid timber gives the weather resistance of the first and some of the warmth of the second. Black fleck is a forgiving finish outdoors, since dust and leaf litter show far less on a flecked dark surface than on a flat pale one.
