Henry Buffet - Satin Oak

The Henry Buffet in Satin Oak is solid oak and oak veneer finished with Oak Lucero Oil, 184cm wide and 80cm high. Four compartments each hold one removable shelf behind doors. It sits on a chamfered plinth base.

An oil finish on a buffet is a different proposition from a lacquer. Oil sinks into the timber rather than sitting on it, so the surface feels like wood and a scratch can be oiled back rather than needing the panel refinished. Naming the product, Oak Lucero Oil, makes that verifiable rather than a claim.

Removable shelves in all four compartments is the practical advantage. Take them out and the openings take decanters, vases and anything else that will not lie down; leave them in and they take plates. A chamfered plinth base rather than legs grounds the piece and reads as joinery, which suits a dining room where the buffet is meant to look built in rather than freestanding.
