Frankie 200 Dining Table - Fossil

The Frankie Dining Table in Fossil is 200cm long, 100cm deep and 76cm high, with a thick square-edged top. The legs are set well in from the ends, so a chair goes at each end without meeting timber. It seats eight at a comfortable spacing.

The reason to look at where the legs sit rather than only at the length is that a 200cm table with legs at the corners seats fewer people than one with the legs pulled in. Inset legs turn each end into a usable place rather than a gap between two legs.

At 100cm deep this is wide enough to run serving dishes down the centre with plates either side, which a 90cm table cannot do. Allow about 75cm clear all round for chairs, so the room needs to be roughly 3.5 by 2.5 metres before it is comfortable.

The caveat is the top thickness that gives it the look. It makes the table heavy, and it means the table wants to be carried in rather than walked through a tight doorway on its edge.
