dBodhi Karma Charcoal Cabinet 2 Doors 1 Open Rack

The dBodhi Karma Charcoal Cabinet has two handwoven rattan doors and an open rack, in a matte black finish on an iron frame. It measures 95cm wide and 140cm high. The rattan weave shows through the dark finish rather than being hidden by it.

Blackening rattan is an unusual choice and it works better than it sounds. Rather than flattening the weave, a matte finish throws the pattern into relief through shadow instead of colour, so you notice the structure of the weaving more, not less.

At 140cm this is a mid-height cabinet, tall enough to be a presence but low enough that the top surface stays usable for lamps or art. The open rack gives you display space without the commitment of glass, and the two woven doors conceal the rest. The iron frame is the industrial element, deliberately contrasting with the handmade weave. It suits modern and minimalist rooms as well as rustic ones, largely because black is doing the work of simplifying everything.
