dBodhi Nirmana Art

The dBodhi Nirmana Art panel is 150cm wide, 6.5cm deep and 75cm high, as a carved timber wall piece. The relief is cut into the surface rather than applied to it, so the pattern reads through shadow rather than colour. At 6.5cm deep it stands off the wall.

A carved panel works differently from a print or a painting. It has no colour to match and nothing to fade, and what you see changes through the day as the light moves across the relief. In a room with a lot of pattern already, that is a quieter way to fill a wall.

At 150cm wide this is a single statement above a sofa or a bed, and it wants a wall long enough that it is not crowded at either end.

The caveat is the weight and the fixing. A solid timber panel at 6.5cm thick is heavier than it looks, so it wants a fixing into a stud or a proper wall anchor rather than a picture hook.
