The Classique Round Dining Table in Matt Dark Oak is 120cm across and 75cm high, on a single pillar. A pillar leaves the floor clear underneath, so a rug reads unbroken and chairs go anywhere around the edge. At 120cm it seats four generously or six at a squeeze.

One hundred and twenty centimetres is the most useful round table size in a small dining room. It seats four with elbow room, takes six when it has to, and still leaves a walkway in a room where a rectangle of the same capacity would not.

The single pillar is what makes the flexible seating real. Four legs decide where people sit; a pillar lets you add a chair anywhere, which is the whole argument for a round table over a square one of the same footprint.

The caveat is edge load. A pillar table will tip if it is leaned on hard at the rim with nothing on the far side, so it is not the table to sit on the edge of, and it wants a level floor more than a four-legged table does.
