Benjamin Ripple Grand Console - Snowgum
View By Appointment
The Benjamin Ripple Grand Console in Snowgum is 151.5cm wide, 40cm deep and 80cm high, on pillars with a rippled surface. The ripple is cut into the base rather than applied, so it catches light along the length. At 40cm deep it suits a hallway.
Console depth is the number that decides whether a hallway still works. At 40cm this leaves a walkway in a corridor where a 50cm case would not, and it is still enough for a lamp, a tray and keys.
The rippled pillars are doing visual work at 151.5cm. A long flat console reads as a plank on legs; texture down the base breaks that up and makes the piece look considered rather than filler.
The caveat is storage, or the lack of it. There are no drawers, so this is a surface rather than a place to put things away. In a hallway that usually means a bowl for keys and a basket underneath.
