Benjamin Ripple Grand Console - Matt Black

The Benjamin Ripple Grand Console in Matt Black is a 151.5cm console in oak veneer, with a textured ripple surface across the front. The matte dark finish throws the ripples into sharp relief. It holds up to 22kg and requires assembly.

The ripple texture is the entire proposition, and black is the finish that shows it best. A textured surface reads through shadow rather than colour, so a matte dark finish throws the ripples into sharp relief in a way a pale finish softens.

That makes this the most graphic of the three colourways, suited to a monochromatic or industrial room where it can be a deliberate contrast against pale walls. At 40cm deep it fits a hallway without narrowing it, and the 80cm height is right for a mirror above or lamps on top. Worth noting the 22kg weight capacity, which is modest, so a heavy stone sculpture or a large planter is not the right thing to put on it.
