Austin Outdoor Dining Table
The Austin Outdoor Dining Table is built from recycled teak using traditional joinery and hand-carving, measuring 240cm long. The timber can be up to 100 years old, salvaged from house and building construction. Teak is among the best performing outdoor timbers available.
The age of the timber is the whole argument here, and it is a genuine one. Wood salvaged from old buildings has spent decades drying slowly and consistently, which is exactly the stability you want in a table that will live outdoors through heat, rain and humidity. New timber, however well seasoned, has not had that time.
It was also harvested from large mature trees, which produces denser, better quality teak than most of what is available today. At 240 x 100cm this seats a proper crowd, so it suits a household that entertains outdoors rather than one wanting a small courtyard table. Traditional joinery and hand-carving mean it is assembled the way furniture was before screws, which is part of why it holds together outside.
