Atlas Pinnacle Side Table - Satin Red Travertine
View By Appointment
The Atlas Pinnacle Side Table in Satin Red Travertine is 39cm across and 46cm high, in travertine. The form is asymmetrical rather than a cylinder, so it reads differently from each side of a chair. At 39cm it is a table for a glass and a phone.
Travertine is a different proposition from marble. It is a softer, more open stone with visible pores and a warmer colour, and it does not aim for the polished look that marble does. On a small piece that texture is most of the appeal.
At 46cm high this sits at seat height beside most chairs, which is the height at which a side table is used rather than looked at. The asymmetric shape means it does not need to be squared up to anything to look deliberate.
The caveat is the stone. Travertine is porous, so a red wine ring on an unsealed patch is a real risk, and a small stone table is heavy for its size and will chip if it goes over.
