Travertine is the softest-looking of the stones this table comes in. It has an open, slightly pitted texture that catches light differently from polished marble, and on a small sculptural form that texture is most of what you notice; the shape and the surface work together rather than the stone simply being a material the shape is cut from.

Rounded edges matter on a table this size. At 39cm square and 46cm high it sits exactly at shin and knee level beside a chair, so a sharp arris would find you eventually. The water-based sealer is what makes travertine viable indoors, since the stone is naturally porous and would otherwise absorb a spilled drink rather than letting you wipe it away.
