Artie Kick Side Table - Snowgum

The Artie Kick Side Table in Snowgum has a tapered round top on a single flared leg, 40cm across and 46cm high. The top is 50mm thick with an 85mm overhang and 400mm of clearance beneath. It is ash veneer and MDF under a PU sealer.

A single flared leg is a structural risk that has been solved by weight rather than by spread. The 50mm top is thick for a table this small, and that mass low in the object is what keeps it planted despite standing on one point.

The 85mm overhang matters more here than on a larger table. It means the leg is well inside the top, so you can pull the table right up against a chair and put a hand on the edge without the whole thing wanting to tip. At 400mm to the underside it sits below most chair arms, which is the height that makes a side table reachable from a seated position. Snowgum is a pale greyed timber tone, the quietest of the finishes.
