Andalusian Mosaic Side Table

The Andalusian Mosaic Side Table in Pink / White is 31cm square and 50cm high, surfaced in glazed tile. The tile is laid in a pattern across the top rather than as one sheet, so the grid lines are part of the look. It takes a glass and a book and nothing larger.

A 31cm top is a decision, not a limitation. Beside a chair you want somewhere to put a drink within reach and nothing else, and a bigger table simply collects things. At 50cm high it sits just above most seat heights, which is where a drink should be.

Glazed tile is the reason this one goes outside as well as in. It does not mark from a wet glass and it does not fade, which is more than can be said for a timber side table on a covered patio.

The caveat is the edges. Glaze is hard but brittle, and a tiled corner chips if something is knocked against it. Keep it away from a doorway where it will be clipped by a hip or a vacuum cleaner.
