Alabaster Juniper Pot

The Alabaster Juniper Pot is a ceramic vessel in a soft white finish with a smooth, unbroken silhouette. It is sized for small to medium pre-potted plants or dried arrangements. It suits a console, a shelf or a coffee table.

A plain white pot lives or dies on its profile, since there is nothing else to look at. The Juniper's curve runs unbroken from base to rim with no shoulder or lip, which is the hardest version to throw and the one that reads as most resolved.

Dried arrangements suit this shape better than most. A vessel with no rim detail gives dried stems nothing to sit against, so they splay outward and the arrangement opens up, which is generally what you want from grasses or seed heads.

On a console it works best set slightly off centre rather than in the middle. A symmetrical object placed symmetrically reads as staged; the same object offset lets the surface look lived on.
